Summer. The UFF may designate three (3) employees to receive a thirteen week .25 FTE summer released time assignment however, no more than one employee per 15 employees per department/unit be designated to receive such released time. The UFF shall provide the University with a list of the designees no later than April 7th of the academic year preceding the summer term. All other provisions contained in Article 3.4 above, except 3.4A and 3.4B above, shall apply to summer released time.
Summer. The Board agrees to provide the equivalent of one (1) thirteen-week .25 FTE summer released time assignment. This summer release may be given to one person, or shared between two people, as designated by UFF-FGCU. Payment for the summer release shall be at the same rate as the designated person(s) would receive for their share of one 3-credit-hour summer course. Summer. Neither employment nor non-employment by faculty during Summer Quarter shall be considered in any way with respect to the provisions of this Article.

Summer. Employees that work on a regular assignment during the summer shall earn additional sick leave at the rate of one (1) hour for every eighteen (18) hours of pay earned during the summer.
Summer. The parties recognize that summer appointments are also different than the more typical appointments of a traditional semester (fall/spring), academic year or calendar year. Therefore, the twenty (20) hour average in Section 2 and Section 3 shall not apply to summer appointments. Rather, the University will not require more effort for students in their roles as student workers than is specified in the job posting and/or appointment letter.

The District may elect not to run a Summer Work Program or to issue Summer Work Agreements in any year at its discretion and, in that event, no summer leave ("Summer Leave") will be awarded. However, if the District elects to have a Summer Work Program and issues Summer Work Agreements, all provisions of this Agreement shall be considered in force for employees working under a Summer Work Agreement.
