SPECIAL LEAVE WITH OR WITHOUT PAY. 6.9.1 Upon application, a teacher may be granted special leave with or without pay on whatever conditions teachers and the employer may agree at the time the leave is granted.

Each application will be considered on a case-by-case basis taking into account the operational requirements of the Ministry, the reason for the leave and the employee's length of service. Leave without pay interrupts but does not break service.
