SALARY ADVANCES. When a part-time employee is advanced on the salary schedule by meeting the criteria of the next entry level, he/she will be advanced two additional steps for each entry step category advancement. Such advances shall not affect eligibility for step increases.

SALARY ADVANCES. Salary advances shall be offered for annual leave, work travel and special leave. Requests for such advances, shall be submitted to the Director of Finance and Administration, as soon as possible before the absence is to commence so that the salary advance can be included with the normal pay that the employee will receive before going on leave. A salary advance shall in no case be greater than the usual salary for the period of absence and will be recovered over the same period.

Employees desiring a salary advance must submit a written request to the Executive Director of Colorado Legal Services, describing the circumstances for which the advance is needed, and include a plan for repayment of the advance through a payroll deduction. An employee may only submit one request for a salary advance in any twelve-month period. Approval of an advance is at the sole discretion of the Executive Director.
