Association Leave. A total of 10 days of leave with pay during the current school year shall be granted the Association for use by the Association. A maximum of four additional days may be used for Association leave and the substitute’s salary will be reimbursed to the Board by the Association. The President of the Association will notify the Superintendent as to the educators and dates involved at least five (5) days before such leave is desired.
Association Leave. 1. Association representatives shall have a total of five (5) days of paid leave to utilize for local, state, or national conferences, or for conducting other business pertinent to Association affairs. These representatives shall be excused from school duties upon two (2) days advance notification to the superintendent by the Association president. The Association shall pay for any substitutes needed, as determined by the site principal.
Association Leave. Should the Association send representatives to local, state or national conferences or other business pertinent to Association affairs, these representatives shall be excused without loss of salary providing that the Association, for a total of eleven (11) aggregate days, shall reimburse the district for the cost of the substitute(s). A written notice of leave shall have been submitted to the superintendent five (5) days prior to the leave.
Association Leave. At the beginning of every school year, the Association shall be credited with five (5) days to be used by employees who are officers or agents of the Association, such use, without pay, to be at the discretion of the Association. The superintendent, or his/her designee will be notified no less than 24 hours prior to the commencement of such leave.
Association Leave. The Association President shall have five (5) Association leave days for Association business which may be used by the President or designee. The Association agrees to pay the approved substitute at the agreed rate for such association leave days.
Association Leave. The Association is allowed to allocate up to ten (10) days per year or twenty (20) half-day increments to members for Association business. The cost of the substitute will be paid by the Association. All Association leave requests shall be submitted by the Association executive board.
Association Leave. A. The Association will be granted leave for each OEA Representative Assembly, not to exceed two (2) meetings annually, a maximum of three (3) days each per delegate.
Association Leave. 1. The Superintendent will recommend and the Board will approve, the duly elected president of the Association, a leave of absence to serve as the CTA president for the term of his/her presidency. The district will serve as the fiscal agent for the payment of his/her salary, fringe benefits, and fixed charges by placing the president in an assigned department for payroll purposes only. The Association shall reimburse the Board 100% of any and all sums paid to or on behalf of said president. The Association agrees to hold harmless the School Board for all claims that arise from actions that occur while the CTA president serves in office. Optional insurance coverage may be continued by paying the premiums due during the approved leave of absence. The bill for the optional insurance coverage will be sent directly to the president to continue the insurance plans. The president shall return to the school previously assigned at the end of the term of his/her presidency. The president shall not earn annual leave, nor be covered by the Board’s Workers’ Compensation Insurance during said term. The president shall be given credit on the salary schedule for the year(s) served as president and seniority shall be accrued during said leave. The president may transfer any unused sick leave days accrued as president, provided daily attendance is documented by the CTA president during the period served as president. It shall be the Association president’s responsibility to assist in securing the requested transfer of sick leave credit from the Association. One day of sick leave may be transferred for each day accrued upon return to Orange County, up to a maximum of 12 days per year. In case of extended illness or retirement, all withheld hours will be transferred immediately. For evaluation purposes, the President shall be classified as Category 4 during the years served in office. However, during the first year in office, any salary increases based on the previous year’s evaluation scores shall be applied to his/her salary. In subsequent years, while the president is classified as a Category 4 s/he shall receive increases designated as an across the board raise.
Association Leave. There shall be allowed to the Association sixty (60) days leave. No more than twenty (20) days of such Association Leave shall be used by the President of the Association, and no more than ten (10) days of such Association Leave shall be used by any other single Association member during the school year. The Association shall reimburse the District for the cost of a substitute hired for the Association members using such Association Leave.
Association Leave. Upon advance written request of the Association, leave shall be granted to supervisors who are elected or appointed by the Association to serve on the Association Negotiating Team. Leave time for service on an Association Negotiating Team shall be considered as paid leave for purposes of vacation leave and sick leave accrual. Association Representatives or other supervisors who may be elected or appointed by the Association to perform duties for the exclusive representative shall be granted time off, provided the granting of such time off does not adversely affect the operations of the supervisor's department or agency. In any case of leave of absence or time off to perform duties for the exclusive representative, the number of supervisors to be granted leaves of absence or time off from any one department or agency may be limited by the Appointing Authority, if the Appointing Authority determines that the number requesting the leave of absence or time off would adversely affect the operations of the department or agency. Upon the written request of the Association, leave shall be granted to supervisors who are elected officers or appointed full-time representatives of the Association. Annually, the Appointing Authority may request the Association to confirm the supervisor's continuation on Association Leave. Any supervisor returning from an approved Association leave of absence as covered by this Section shall be entitled to return to employment in a position in the supervisor's former classification and agency within thirty-five (35) miles of the former position. Upon return from an extended Association leave of absence of one (1) year or more, a supervisor may elect to take a vacancy in the same class/class option within the same agency if the supervisor is determined to be qualified for the position. A supervisor exercising this option shall be subject to a new probationary period. During the Article 15, Section 2 trial period or upon non-certification, the supervisor may exercise return rights described above.
