Other Donors’ Activity. The KfW Bankengruppe (KfW), the World Bank and other donors support school construction. The European Union (EU) conducts assistance for studying overseas in higher education as well as developing school infrastructure for children with disabilities. The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and the UK are also respectively providing assistance for overseas study for students and researchers incapable of proceeding to higher learning for reasons of gender or poverty. In healthcare sector, the World Health Organization (WHO) strives to enhance the system of social health insurance, supports policy development, etc. while the U.S. has also been conducting technical cooperation aiming to improve the quality and safety of its health service since 2014.
Other Donors’ Activity. The other main donors involved in Kenya’s power sector include the World Bank, the French Development Agency (AFD), the European Investment Bank (EIB), the German Credit Institute for Reconstruction (KfW), and the African Development Bank. These donors provide comprehensive support, including power source development, improvement of energy transmission and distribution systems, electrification in rural areas, improvement of the organizational management capabilities of power-related organizations and other matters.
Other Donors’ Activity. In August 2012, the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) signed the Loan Agreement on the provision of loans to eight cities among the 31 cities covered by the General Program, excluding the 23 cities covered by this Project. From 2007 to 2011, the US Agency for International Development (USAID) provided technical assistance for the strengthening of the capability to formulate waste disposal projects for each local government. The State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO) is considering providing grant aid support for the project to construct a sanitary landfill in Chiclayo.
Other Donors’ Activity. The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) is implementing the Upazila Governance Project to assist 14 upazila parishads in enhancing their financial and administrative capacity and establishing legal systems. The UNDP is also carrying out the Union Parishad Governance Project. Meanwhile, the World Bank launched the Local Governance Support Project (LGSP) in 2006 to support the development of the financial and administrative capacity of union parishads. The LGSP is now in its second phase (2011 - 2016).
Other Donors’ Activity. With cofinancing from a French development agency, the Agence Française de Développement (AFD) and the European Investment Bank (EIB), reconstruction and expansion of sewage pipes and drains are taking place in fourteen out of Tunisia’s twenty-four provinces. A German government-owned development bank, Kreditanstalt für Wideraufbau (KfW) is also working an ongoing sludge management survey project for wastewater treatment plants, while the World Bank is supporting sewage system improvements mostly on the outskirts of the capital city of Tunis.
Other Donors’ Activity. The Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) has provided support to the road sector in Paraguay totaling approximately US$700 million through 18 projects since 1969. In addition, the World Bank has a track record of support totaling approximately US$300 million through 10 projects. This project is Phase II, which follows after Phase I (Note
Other Donors’ Activity. In addition to forest management projects being implemented by the World Bank and the EU, the Global Environmental Facility (GEF) has been involved in supporting the preparation of biodiversity strategy and related action plans of India.
Other Donors’ Activity. The World Bank has been supporting development of a bus rapid transit system and establishment and strengthening of a new Public Transport Authority in Hanoi City. The Asian Development Bank has been supporting Hanoi City Urban Railway Construction Project (Line 3) under a joint loan with the French Development Agency (AFD). In addition, China has been supporting Hanoi City Urban Railway Construction Project (Line 2A) of the Urban Railway in Hanoi City.
Other Donors’ Activity. Banco Centroamericano de Integración Económica (BCIE) is now funding the paving of the FTN Road that crosses northern Alta Verapaz department along the northern border with Mexico in Huehuetenango department (loan amount: approx. 200 million dollars), and Kreditanstalt für Wiederaufbau (KfW) is funding the paving of National Route 5 that connects Cobán (the capital of Alta Verapaz department) and FTN (loan amount: approx. 3 million dollars).
Other Donors’ Activity. The sewerage sector in Morocco is assisted by the World Bank, the African Development Bank, Agence Française de Développement (AFD), Kreditanstalt für Wiederaufbau (KfW), the European Investment Bank (EIB) and other donors.
