Attendance at Professional Conferences. When administrative and supervisory personnel receive approval to attend professional conferences, the Board will reimburse them for the expenses associated with registration, travel, lodging and meals as approved and as funding permits.

Attendance at Professional Conferences. Employees may be allowed to attend professional conferences as authorized by the Director if such conferences are considered by the Director to be for VASE educational purposes. The reasonable expenses of such conferences for which the employee does not receive college credit shall be paid, including food, lodging and travel, based upon reimbursable expenses submitted to the Director. Reasonable expenses will not include payment as overtime and/or for reimbursement at a daily rate for days that the employee would not have otherwise been scheduled to work. The Director may agree to allow the employee to trade work days when the conference or workshop is held on a regularly non-scheduled work day. Non-certified support employees shall be allowed to attend any Vermilion County Schools employees' workshop that is designed for them.
Attendance at Professional Conferences. Professional Employees, with the approval of the Superintendent, will be allowed to attend conferences/activities of an educational nature.
Attendance at Professional Conferences. 10.01 Any bargaining unit member desiring to attend a professional conference or convention shall submit to the Superintendent a written request to do so on Request for Attendance at a Professional Meeting form. (Appendix B) Said request shall be submitted no later than ten (10) school days prior to the conference or convention and shall state the school days, if any, which the person will miss by attending the conference or convention. The applicant shall provide a written summary as to the professional nature of the conference or convention, an estimate of expenses and the proposed method of travel. If said request is approved, the Board will indicate which expenses of the following, in addition to regular salary and the cost of a substitute teacher, it will pay:
Attendance at Professional Conferences. 10.1 Each member will be allocated funds at least once every 3 years to attend a national level conference of his/her choosing that aligns with job responsibilities. (Selection will be based on alphabetical thirds)Upon approval from the Board the member will receive reimbursement for the expenses associated with registration, travel, lodging and meals up to a maximum of $1,500 per conference. All receipts, etc. must be submitted for reimbursement no later than 15 days following the members return to work. The current A & S group shall be divided into three groups in which each group is assigned a number 1, 2, or 3. Group 1 is eligible for reimbursement during the 2014-2015 school year and every 3rd year after that. Group 2 is eligible for reimbursement during the 2015-2016 school year and every 3rd year after that. Group 3 is eligible for reimbursement during the 2016-2017 school year and every 3rd year after that. Every member will remain in their assigned group for as long as they are A & S members. When a member leaves the group, their spot will be assigned to the new member. In the event that new members are added without losing members, the new members will be added to the smallest list first and then systematically to list 1, then 2, then 3.

  • Professional Conferences Professional conferences are those conferences sponsored by educational organizations, institutions of higher learning, and government and industry concerning teaching, learning and educational research. When a full-time or part-time faculty member’s attendance at a professional conference conflicts with his/her regular assignment, the faculty member must submit a request for attendance to the appropriate Xxxx, Director, or Supervisor. If granted, the attendance at the conference will be considered leave with pay, and a follow-up report of the conference shall be submitted to the appropriate Supervisor.

  • Attendance at Conferences and Conventions (a) The parties to this Agreement recognize that attendance or participation at conferences, conventions, symposia, workshops and other gatherings of a similar nature contributes to the maintenance of high professional standards.
