Periods of Service definition

Periods of Service means and refers to the number of six (6) month periods, in the aggregate, for which an Employee is employed by the Bank, commencing with the Date of Employment of the Employee and ending with the date of Termination of the Employee’s Employment with the Bank, both dates inclusive, excluding any period of Employment which Terminated under circumstances under which the Employee was not eligible for Severance Benefits under this Plan.
Periods of Service. (as defined in Section 1.97(B)(4)) which may be disregarded on account of the "rule of parity" described in Section 2.3 and Section A.7.6(B) of the Adoption Agreement), an Employee shall receive credit for the aggregate of all time period(s) commencing with the Employee's Employment or Reemployment Commencement Date and ending on the date a break in service begins. An Employee shall also receive credit for any "Period of Severance" (as defined in Section 1.97(B)(6)) of less than 12 consecutive months. Fractional periods of a year shall be expressed in terms of days. Each Employee shall share in Employer contributions for the period beginning on the date the Employee commences participation under the Plan and ending on the date on which such Employee sevexx xxxloyment with the Employer or is no longer a member of an eligible class of Employees. If the Employer is a member of an affiliated service group (under section 414(m) of the Code), a controlled group of corporations (under section 414(b) of the Code), a group of trades or businesses under common control (under section 414(c)of the Code), or any other entity required to be aggregated with the Employer pursuant to section 414(o) of the Code, service shall be credited for any employment for any period of time for any other member of such group. Service shall also be credited for any individual required under section 414(n) of the Code or section 414(o) of the Code to be considered an Employee of any Employer aggregated under section 414(b), (c), or (m) of the Code. For purposes of this Section 1.55(B), a One-Year Break In Service occurs if:

Examples of Periods of Service in a sentence

  • All employees of all Affiliated Employers shall, for purposes of the limitations in Article XII and for measuring Hours of Service and Periods of Service, be treated as employed by a single employer.

  • When determining an Employee's Active Service, all Periods of Service, whether or not completed consecutively, shall be aggregated on a per day basis.

  • Unless otherwise provided in this Plan, Periods of Service which are less than a year shall be aggregated on the basis that 12 months (30 days are deemed to be a month in the case of aggregation of fractional months) or 365 days equal a whole year.

  • A schedule of Allocation Rates has regular intervals of Age, Years of Service (or Periods of Service), or Age and service points, if each band, other than the band associated with the highest Age, Years of Service (or Periods of Service), or Age and service points, is the same length.

  • An Employee’s transfer to or from any Employer or Participating Employer will not affect his or her Participant’s Account Balance, total Years of Service (Periods of Service) and total Years of Service as a Participant (Periods of Service as a Participant).

  • To determine the number of whole years in all of an Employee’s Periods of Service, non-contiguous periods shall be aggregated.

  • If he has more than one Period of Service or if all or a part of a Period of Service is not counted, his Vesting Service shall be determined by adjusting his Employment Commencement Date so that he has one continuous period of Vesting Service equal to the aggregate of all his countable Periods of Service.

  • For the purposes of this Article, an Employee shall be credited with Years of Service equal to the number of whole years in all of the Employee’s Periods of Service.

  • Such aggregate number of Periods of Service will not include any Periods of Service disregarded under the preceding sentence by reason of prior 1-Year Breaks in Service.

  • A schedule of Allocation Rates increases smoothly if the Allocation Rate for each band within the schedule is greater than the Allocation Rate for the immediately preceding band (i.e., the band with the next lower number of years of Age, Years of Service (or Periods of Service), or Age and service points) by no more than 5 percentage (5%).

Related to Periods of Service

  • Period of Service means the aggregate of all periods of service commencing with an Employee's first day of employment or reemployment with the Employer or an Affiliated Employer and ending on the first day of a Period of Severance, or for benefit accrual purposes, ending on the severance from service date. The first day of employment or reemployment is the first day the Employee performs an Hour of Service. An Employee who incurs a Period of Severance of twelve (12) months or less will also receive service-spanning credit by treating any such period as a Period of Service for purposes of eligibility and vesting (but not benefit accrual). For purposes of benefit accrual, a Participant's whole year Periods of Service is equal to the sum of all full and partial periods of service, whether or not such service is continuous or contiguous, expressed in the number of whole years represented by such sum. For this purpose, fractional periods of a year will be expressed in terms of days.

  • Years of Service means the total number of full years in which a Participant has been employed by one or more Employers. For purposes of this definition, a year of employment shall be a 365 day period (or 366 day period in the case of a leap year) that, for the first year of employment, commences on the Employee's date of hiring and that, for any subsequent year, commences on an anniversary of that hiring date. Any partial year of employment shall not be counted.

  • Vesting Service of an employee means the period or periods of service credited to him under the provisions of Article II for purposes of determining his vested interest in his Employer Contributions Sub-Account, if Employer Contributions are provided for under either Article VI or Article XXII.

  • Hours of Service means hours to be credited to an Employee under the following rules:

  • Length of Service means total length of time within the Agency. For the purpose of this definition any service prior to a break-in-service with the Agency of more than ninety (90) days shall not be computed in determining length of service. (This will not preclude a reinstatement of a former Agency employee who has been separated from state service for ninety (90) days or less.)

  • Month of Service means a calendar month in which an employee is in receipt of full salary or wages in respect of the prescribed number of working hours in each working day in the month and includes a calendar month in which an employee is absent on special leave without pay not in excess of twenty (20) working days.

  • Class of Service means the various categories of service generally available to customers, such as business or residence.

  • Year of Service means the computation period of twelve (12) consecutive months, herein set forth, during which an Employee has at least 1000 Hours of Service.

  • Credited Service means the member's total period of service

  • Level of service has the meaning set forth in Section 2.02(c).

  • 1-Year Break in Service means the applicable computation period during which an Employee has not completed more than 500 Hours of Service with the Employer. Further, solely for the purpose of determining whether a Participant has incurred a 1-Year Break in Service, Hours of Service shall be recognized for "authorized leaves of absence" and "maternity and paternity leaves of absence." Years of Service and 1-Year Breaks in Service shall be measured on the same computation period.

  • Break in Service means any Plan Year, or, for the initial eligibility computation period under Section 3.2, the 12-consecutive month period beginning on the first day of which an Employee has an Hour of Service, in which an Employee has 500 or fewer Hours of Service. Solely for this purpose, an Employee shall be considered employed for his normal hours of paid employment during a Recognized Absence (said Employee shall not be credited with more than 501 Hours of Service to avoid a Break in Service), unless he does not resume his Service at the end of the Recognized Absence. Further, if an Employee is absent for any period (i) by reason of the Employee’s pregnancy, (ii) by reason of the birth of the Employee’s child, (iii) by reason of the placement of a child with the Employee in connection with the Employee’s adoption of the child, or (iv) for purposes of caring for such child for a period beginning immediately after such birth or placement, the Employee shall be credited with the Hours of Service which would normally have been credited but for such absence, up to a maximum of 501 Hours of Service.

  • Period of Severance means a continuous period of time during which an Employee is not employed by the Employer. Such period begins on the date the Employee retires, quits or is discharged, or if earlier, the twelve (12) month anniversary of the date on which the Employee was otherwise first absent from service.

  • Eligibility Service of an employee means the period or periods of service credited to him under the provisions of Article II for purposes of determining his eligibility to participate in the Plan as may be required under Article III or Article VI.

  • One-Year Break in Service means a twelve (12) consecutive month period during which the Participant does not complete more than 500 Hours of Service.

  • Date of Service means the date on which the client receives medical services or items, unless otherwise specified in the appropriate provider rules. For items that are mailed or shipped by the provider, the date of service is the date on which the order was received, the date on which the item was fabricated, or the date on which the item was mailed or shipped.

  • Hour of Service means:

  • completed year of service means continuous service for one year;

  • Terms of Service means those Support Services and Professional Services terms posted at xxxx://xxx.XXXXXXX.xxx/terms-of-service/, which are incorporated herein. Client acknowledges and agrees it has read, understands and agrees to be bound by the Terms of Service.

  • Grandfathered Service means service which is no longer available for new customers and is limited to the current customer at their current locations with certain provisioning limitations, including but not limited to upgrade denials, feature adds/changes and responsible/billing party.

  • Testing service means a national testing service selected by the board.

  • Matching Period has the meaning specified in Section 5.4(1)(e).

  • Separates from Service or “Separation from Service” means the Participant’s termination of service as a non‑employee director and as an employee of UGI for any reason other than death and shall be determined in accordance with section 409A of the Code.
