Election of Stewards. In order to provide an orderly and speedy procedure for the settling of grievances, the Employer acknowledges the right of the Union to appoint or elect 1 (one) xxxxxxx, whose duties shall be to assist any employee (which the xxxxxxx represents) in preparing and presenting their grievance in accordance with the grievance procedure.

In order to provide an orderly and timely procedure for the settling of grievances, the Employer acknowledges the right of the Union to appoint or elect up to a total of six (6) stewards who must be employees of the Employer during their term of office and report to the same Supervisors as the employees they represent. The Union reserves the right to appoint a co-chief Xxxxxxx to assume the duties of the Chief Xxxxxxx in his/her absence or when he/she is unavailable.

The Union shall notify the Company in writing of the names of the Shop Xxxxxxx for each department. The Company shall, if requested, supply to the Union the name of the Supervisor with whom each Xxxxxxx shall deal.
