Use of Sick Time. Sick time may be used only for personal illness except as described in a) and b) below.

Use of Sick Time. Sick time is for use when an employee cannot work due to an illness, injury, medical or dental appointment of the employee or their family. Except in cases of emergencies, medical and dental appointments should be scheduled in advance so as to create the least possible conflict with staffing requirements. The employee will give the Employer at least twenty-four (24) hour advance notice of such appointments, except in an emergency.
Use of Sick Time. After the first 90 calendar days on compensation, an amount equal to the difference paid by the City between an employee's workers' compensation and his regular salary shall be deducted from the employee's accumulated sick leave. When the amount of the employee's accumulated sick leave has been depleted, the City will no longer pay the difference between workers' compensation and the employee's salary. An employee will continue to accrue and receive benefits for the first 90 calendar days while on compensation. When this period has elapsed, they shall be deemed to be on inactive status and will not be eligible to accrue or receive benefits other than those stipulated in this section.
Use of Sick Time. In each program, the Supervisor and staff will discuss the protocol of calling in sick and work together to put in place a plan to handle unexpected illness during the night. (ex. identify staff who would be willing/able to come in early; supply staff to be called). The employee will be expected to call their Supervisor between the hours of 6am and 9pm. The ill employee will call their Supervisor or their designate, who will find a replacement and contact the centre to advise. The employee will make every effort to give as much time as possible to find a replacement, with the expectation that employees will endeavour to provide two (2) hours’ notice. Employees will attempt to schedule routine medical appointments outside of regular working hours.
Use of Sick Time. Sick time shall be granted to an employee when the employee is unable to perform duties because of illness, disability, injury, or for medical, dental or optical examination or treatment that has been prearranged and substantiated with a reasonable number of hours being used. Sick time shall also be granted when a member of the immediate family of the employee is afflicted with a contagious disease that requires the care and attendance of the employee, or when after exposure to contagious disease, the presence of the employee at the employment position would jeopardize the health of others.
Use of Sick Time. Sick time can be used by eligible employees when they are ill, need to care for an ill family member, and for medical appointments. Employees who work at least 30 days in a year are eligible to receive paid sick leave. Employee can begin using accrued sick leave once they have worked for 120 days. Employees shall notify the employer of nonemergency medical appointments at least one (1) week in advance of the medical appointment if the appointment falls within the employee's regularly scheduled hours. Employees who intend to take sick time for an unplanned absence must notify their supervisor by phone, text or email at least one hour before the start of their work day. Employees that are unable to provide notice of their absence because of exigent circumstances per- taining to the illness or medical emergency may be excused from the above no- xxxx requirement. Employees who are out ill for three (3) consecutive days will need a doctor’s note to verify the illness and authorize that they are fit to return to work. Employees are limited in their use of sick leave to 48 hours (or six days) per year. Employees shall take sick leave in at least one (1) hour increments. Employees may take sick leave for their own health condition or the health condition of a family member, including preventative treatment. “Family member” is defined broadly and includes a spouse, domestic partner, parent, child, step- child, parent-in-law, grandparent, grandchild, and sibling. Bargaining unit member employees may elect to invoke their right to a leave if they are victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, or stalking, for purposes of treatment for alcohol or drug dependency. Employee leave that is otherwise defined by state or federal law shall not be affected by the terms of this Agreement. Employees shall not receive a pay out of accrued sick leave when their employment ends. However, if an employee leaves and is rehired within one year, accrued sick leave will be reinstated.
Use of Sick Time. All employees shall be credited fifteen (15) working days of sick leave per year. All employees who are off due to sickness more than seven (7) days shall present a doctor's certificate to their department head upon their return to work at the request of the department head. If the employee presents a doctor's certificate for any of the first seven (7) days, those days that are certified will not be counted in the computation.

Use of Sick Time. A. An Employee shall be entitled to charge accumulated sick leave credits for illness or injury; subject to verification by medical certificate or proof of illness, after being off work for two (2) consecutive full duty days. The Employer reserves the right to conduct any reasonable investigation regarding an Employee’s use of sick days.
Use of Sick Time. When an employee is out sick or on a medical leave of absence, the employee must use any accrued but unused sick time. Once sick time is exhausted, the employee must use all other available benefit time, unless the employee is on a pregnancy disability leave, workers compensation leave or leave pursuant to other applicable law.
