Time Between Shifts. 27 There shall be a minimum of eight (8) hours between regular scheduled 28 shifts. Employees who have completed their regular shift and are required to 29 work an additional continuous eight (8) hours shall be granted four (4) hours of 30 rest with pay at the straight hourly rate. The rest pay provision shall apply to the 31 employee’s first four (4) hours of their next shift and only occurs when the next 1 regular shift begins within twelve (12) hours of the end of the continuous work 2 period.

Time Between Shifts. (a) An employee who has completed a shift (that may include a contiguous period of overtime at the end of the shift) or a period of non-contiguous overtime after the shift shall not be required to resume work until nine (9) hours have elapsed from the time the shift or overtime period was completed. This will not apply to employee requested shift changes.

Time Between Shifts. Each member shall be given a minimum of eight hours between regularly scheduled hours, training hours included, with the exception of mandatory court appearances, performing BAG testing certification, yearly time changes and in cases of emergencies or when officers volunteer for additional time or trade a shift.
Time Between Shifts. An Employee who works beyond the regular ending time of a shift and who has less than seven (7) hours before the beginning of his next scheduled shift, may request to report late for the next shift. Approval of the request is at the discretion of the on-duty O.I.C.
