Substitute Teacher Position. A substitute position, as defined in Minn. Stat. 8710.1000, shall not be considered a vacancy within the meaning of this Article. The School District may, but is not required to, offer a substitute teacher position to teachers on the recall list and the teacher on the recall list is not required to accept a substitute teacher position. However, if a teacher accepts a substitute position, such teacher shall fulfill the substitute position and shall not be entitled for regular recall until the substitute position, which the teacher accepted, is completed.

  • Substitute Teachers In lieu of salary under the Basic Salary Schedule, the District shall pay to teachers employed on the basis of the teacher being available for service if and when called upon by the District, and known as Substitute Teachers, an allowance of $217.04 per day of teaching effective September 1, 2011. Half days will be paid at 50 per cent of the full day allowance.

  • Substitute Teaching An adjunct faculty member who is interested in a substitute teaching assignment may be assigned to teach as a substitute in a course section for which the adjunct faculty member is qualified to teach. Each semester an adjunct faculty member may submit to the appropriate Xxxx a written request, on a form provided by the College, which shall indicate his/her willingness and availability to act as a substitute teacher and a reliable means by which to contact the adjunct faculty member on short notice. The maximum experience credit shall be based on the guidelines set forth in Article VIII, Section 1, Subd. 1. This provision is not retroactive.

  • Non-Tenured Teachers A leave may be granted to a non-tenured teacher by action of the Board of Education, subject to all the conditions applicable to a tenured teacher. However, for a school term to count toward the attainment of tenure, the non-tenured teacher must work at least one hundred twenty (120) full time employment days. A school term that is not counted toward attainment of tenure shall not be considered a break in service for purposes of determining whether the non- tenured teacher has been employed for the period of time necessary to attain tenure, provided that the non-tenured teacher actually teaches or is otherwise present and participating in District 34’s educational program in the following school term. The granting of maternity leave to any non-tenured teacher shall not constitute a precedent for the granting or withholding of leave to any other non-tenured teacher. Each request shall be judged on its own merits and shall be within the sole discretion of the Board. Additional conditions or restrictions may be established for any such leave, provided nothing herein shall be construed as requiring any non-tenured teacher to apply for such leave or accept the conditions established therefore.

  • Meetings Between the Institute and Management Where operational requirements permit, the Employer will grant leave with pay to an employee to attend meetings with management on behalf of the Institute.

  • Substitute days 17.7 The Employer, with the agreement of the Employees concerned, may substitute the day an Employee is to take off for another day in the case of a breakdown of machinery, or a failure of shortage of electric power, or to meet the requirements of the business in the event of rush orders or some other emergency situation.
