Common use of MAJOR HOLIDAYS Clause in Contracts

MAJOR HOLIDAYS. Double time the employee’s usual hourly rate will be paid for hours worked on the following holidays: New Year’s Day Labor Day Memorial Day Thanksgiving Day Fourth of July Christmas Day An employee who works on any one (1) of the remaining holidays listed in Section 1 above will be paid one and one-half (1 ½) times his or her usual rate of pay for the time worked or may elect to accrue comp time in lieu of payment for any holiday listed in 20.1. In order to receive holiday pay, the employee must work the last scheduled day before and the next scheduled day after the holiday, unless the employee uses a vacation day, personal day, or sick day (with approved doctor’s note), or comp day on either of those days.
