Illness in Family. A leave of absence without pay for a period of one (1) year shall be granted to a tenured employee for the purpose of caring for a sick member of his family. Additional leave without pay may be granted at the discretion of the Board. A non-tenured employee may be granted a leave if recommended by the Superintendent and approved by the Board.
