Good Scientific Practice. The parties to this agreement undertake to comply with the Rules of Good Scientific Practice as defined in the TUM Code of Conduct / Ehrenkodex (see xxx.xxx.xx). The candidates are aware that according to § 6 (7) of the TUM Regulations for the Award of Doctoral Degrees scholarly work already submitted for examination purposes may not be re-submitted as part of the doctoral project.

Good Scientific Practice. The doctoral candidate and the doctoral committee agree to observe the code `Guidelines for Safeguarding Good Scientific Practice` issued by the German Research Foundation (DFG). In case of LIfBi employees, all parties agree to additionally observe the rules for good scientific practice issued by LIfBi and members of the University of Bamberg additionally observe the respective rules of the university. In alleged cases of scientific misconduct, the parties concerned shall turn to the respective ombudsperson or his/her deputy.
Good Scientific Practice. The Charity expects the highest standards of integrity to be adhered to by the Host Institution and the Staff. The Host Institution must ensure that it has in place formal procedures for the investigation of allegations of scientific misconduct.

Support by the ISOS: The ISOS offers an engaging network of scientists, discussion fora, specialized courses and partial financial assistance to the candidate for travel to meetings and conferences, for Doctoral Miniproposals and scientific fair mentoring. Only candidates who have complied with conducting the thesis committee meetings will be eligible for financial support. More information is available on the ISOS website. Conflict resolution: Even with the best of intentions, conflicts may arise. The Thesis Committee Meetings are explicitly the place to discuss these with all partners in open communication. Should external advice or mediation be required this can be sought from the Ombudspersons of Kiel University or the GEOMAR, the persons of trust at the Graduate Center and the ISOS. All partners agree to engage in conflict resolution in good faith and without reservation. By signing this document all partners agree to comply with the above, and affirm their commitment to contribute to a successful doctoral thesis.
