Yard sale definition

Yard sale means an infrequent event (less than three (3) times per calendar year and lasting no more than three days) conducted on property in R-Zoned districts where used household goods and personal items are offered for sale to the general public by the owner or tenant of the property or by a group of owners or tenants. Holding three (3) or more yard sales during a calendar year at the same address shall be considered to be a retail use and the property owner shall be required to obtain a suitable zoning classification prior to continuing the activity.
Yard sale. - means the sale or offering for sale of items or goods on property or premises used principally for residential uses, including all sales commonly referred to as "garage sales", "yard sales", "tag sales", "porch sales", "lawn sales", "attic sales", "basement sales", "rummage sales", "flea market sales", "moving sales", or any similar casual sale of tangible personal property. Yard sale shall also include placement and advertisement of any vehicle, trailer, boat or similar article for sale.
Yard sale means a sale from a residence or residential property of personal property which has been owned or used by a person residing on or owning the premises where the sale is conducted. In addition, yard sales may be held on property owned by religious institutions and other civic, non-profit organizations. The term “yard sale” shall include all sales entitled “garage sale”, “lawn sale”, “attic sale”, “moving sale”, “rummage sale”, etc.

Yard sale or "garage sale" shall mean a sale of miscellaneous merchandise, conducted in a manner as otherwise permitted by this chapter, on private residential premises by an individual or individual persons. (as added by Ord. #01-847, Oct. 2001)

Yard sale means a sale where people place used, unwanted possessions or surplus household goods in front of their house and sell them. It does not include merchandise that was purchased for resale or obtained on consignment.
