Xxxxx Days definition

Xxxxx Days in accordance with this Section 2 shall become effective on May 1, 1997.
Xxxxx Days shall be bid on the basis of seniority for each platoon on an annual basis during October of each year for the following calendar year (starting January 2nd). Xxxxx Xxx assignments will be issued by October 30th.
Xxxxx Days shall be selected by members in each platoon on the basis of seniority and not more than two (2) members may select the same Xxxxx Xxx. A maximum of two (2) members may select the same “Xxxxx Xxx” provided all days of the week have a minimum of one (1) member scheduled off on a “Xxxxx Xxx” upon completion of these selections. The selection of Xxxxx Days for a calendar year shall be made on or before January 1st of that year. If, during the course of a year, a day of the week becomes unfilled as a “Xxxxx Xxx” because of the retirement, resignation, termination or death of a Bargaining Unit member, such unfilled “Xxxxx Xxx” shall remain unfilled until January 1st of the following year when new Xxxxx Xxx selections are made. Provided, however, that a Bargaining Unit member shall be permitted to switch his present “Xxxxx Xxx” to the unfilled “Xxxxx Xxx.” If more than one Bargaining Unit member proposes to switch to the unfilled “Xxxxx Xxx,” the most senior member shall be given priority. A Bargaining Unit member switching Xxxxx Days under this provision shall not be permitted to adjust any vacation time selections that the member has made.

Examples of Xxxxx Days in a sentence

  • A minimum of four (4) and a maximum of five (5) Xxxxx Days will be given to each individual per calendar year depending on the manner in which the shift schedules fall.

  • Employees may submit requests to schedule another single group, with a minimum of three (3) or more consecutive shifts (which may include Xxxxx Days) within the designated fourteen (14) day vacation selection period and in accordance with the first round limitations.

  • Scheduled Xxxxx Days shall not be considered a break in consecutive duty days.

  • The employee may utilize sick leave, Xxxxx Days, and vacation earned while undergoing rehabilitation.

  • Xxxxx Days may be traded between employees assigned to the same shift according to the same procedures currently used for trading duty time as described in ARTICLE XIII Section 3 - Exchanging Tours of Duty; except that Xxxxx Xxx trades must be in full day increments.

  • The work week for all suppression personnel shall be a three-platoon fifty and four tenths (50.4) hour schedule, consisting of three consecutive twenty-four (24) continuous hour shifts, providing for two continuous twenty-four off-duty periods for each on-duty period, and a further off-duty day of twenty- four (24)hours (Xxxxx Days) after nine (9) normal scheduled days of work.

  • No part of any approved vacation lasting eleven (11) shifts or more (including Xxxxx Days) may be cancelled.

  • If the requests do not result in a minimum of four (4) or more consecutive shifts (which may include Xxxxx Days), the District Chiefs will call employees by seniority to schedule the required minimum of four (4) shifts.

  • Acting Captain’s pay will be paid when the Captain is off for reasons such as Xxxxx Days, vacations, sick or injured.

  • This number is then divided by the total number of shifts within the annual vacation cycle (excluding Xxxxx Days) and then rounded up to next whole number if ≥.5 (example: total battalion personnel times 12, divided by 121, rounded up to next whole number if ≥.5.


More Definitions of Xxxxx Days

Xxxxx Days. A shift that is scheduled off within an FLSA work period for staff covered under the 7K exemption. Xxxxx Days enable the employer to maintain the number of hours allowed within the work period and avoid incurring unnecessary overtime liability.
Xxxxx Days shall be scheduled on the basis of seniority by rank and time in grade for each platoon on an annual basis on or about October each year. After the initial selection, if it is necessary to adjust the “Xxxxx Xxx” designation, such adjustment shall be made by the Division Chief in order to balance the number of employees off on any given day. In the event of an intra-shift balancing of personnel, the Division Chief shall, in his/her sole discretion, determine the day from which the balancing shall occur. Once that day is selected, the Division Chief or his/her designee shall make a reasonable effort to offer selection to the senior employees in the affected rank on that day.
Xxxxx Days shall not be utilized on contractually identified holidays. If a “Xxxxx Xxx” is submitted at least 60 days in advance it will be considered a “Scheduled Xxxxx Xxx” and will be approved and considered a guaranteed day off unless there are multiple requests for the same day or minimum staffing is not maintained at the time of request. A “Xxxxx Xxx” requested less than 60 days in advance will be subject to mandatory overtime. “Xxxxx Xxx” requests shall not be approved if submitted with less than 48 hours’ notice. Requests for time off with less than 48 hours’ notice shall be handled as described earlier in this Article. Multiple “Xxxxx Xxx” requests for the same date will be addressed and granted based on a “first come, first served” basis. If requests for time off are submitted at the same time on the same day the higher seniority Employee will be granted the time off. No two Employees will be granted a “Xxxxx Xxx” on the same day.

  • Day/Days means calendar days, inclusive of Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays.
