Volunteer Leave definition

Volunteer Leave. The Employer may approve leaves of absence with pay for Employees that serve as volunteers in activities that relate directly to their positions or job duties with the Employer. Approval or denial of volunteer leaves of absence shall not be subject to the grievance procedure.

Examples of Volunteer Leave in a sentence

  • Deletion of provisions which are no longer applicable, including Volunteer Leave, Appendix P and Appendix V.

  • The Human Resources Policies and Procedures Manual shall be used for administering Family and Medical Leave, Injury Leave, Voting Leave, Military Leave, Paid Volunteer Leave, and Court and Jury Leave.

  • Such leaves include, Military Leave, Jury Duty Leave, Public Office Leave, Volunteer Leave, Paid Parental Leave, Family Medical Leave, Donated Leave, Leave Without Pay, Education Leave and Training Leave.

  • Effective on April 1st of the year following the signing of the collective agreement: Article 46, Volunteer Leave is deleted from the collective agreement.

  • To the extent that other leaves are authorized or mandated by federal, state or municipal law (such as the Disaster Service Volunteer Leave Act), the University will grant such leaves to employees in accordance with and pursuant to the terms or provisions of those laws.

  • Volunteer Leave will be deleted from the collective agreement on April 1st in the year following the signing of the collective agreement, and moved to Article 49, providing members with two days of Personal Leave with Pay.

  • School Volunteer Leave shall be in accordance with N.J.A.C. 4A:6-1.24, as may be amended from time to time.

Related to Volunteer Leave

  • Volunteer worker means a person who is not your "employee", and who donates his or her work and acts at the direction of and within the scope of duties determined by you, and is not paid a fee, salary or other compensation by you or anyone else for their work performed for you.

  • FMLA Leave means a leave of absence, which the Company is required to extend to an Employee under the provisions of the FMLA.

  • Volunteer means an individual who has regular, significant contact with students.

  • maternity leave means a period during which a woman is absent from work because she is pregnant or has given birth to a child, and at the end of which she has a right to return to work either under the terms of her contract of employment or under Part 8 of the Employment Rights Act 1996;

  • paternity leave means a period of absence from work on leave by virtue of section 80A or 80B of the Employment Rights Act 1996;

  • Medical leave means leave of up to a total of 12 workweeks in a 12-month period because of an employee’s own serious health condition that makes the employee unable to work at all or unable to perform any one or more of the essential functions of the position of that employee. The term “essential functions” is defined in Government Code section 12926. “Medical leave” does not include leave taken for an employee’s pregnancy disability, as defined in (n) below, except as specified below in section 11093(c)(1).

  • parental bereavement leave means leave under section 80EA of the Employment Rights Act 1996;

  • Pregnancy Leave means leave taken for purposes related to giving birth and/or recovering therefrom.

  • Volunteer firefighter means a firefighter whose position normally requires less than 600

  • Family leave means any leave taken by an employee from

  • Bereavement Leave means "a leave of absence granted to an employee upon a death occurring in the employee's Immediate Family.”

  • Intermittent Leave means leave taken in separate blocks of time due to a single qualifying reason.

  • Uniformed personnel means: (a) Law enforcement officers as

  • maternity or paternity leave of absence means, for Plan Years beginning after December 31, 1984, an absence from work for any period by reason of the Employee's pregnancy, birth of the Employee's child, placement of a child with the Employee in connection with the adoption of such child, or any absence for the purpose of caring for such child for a period immediately following such birth or placement. For this purpose, Hours of Service shall be credited for the computation period in which the absence from work begins, only if credit therefore is necessary to prevent the Employee from incurring a 1-Year Break in Service, or, in any other case, in the immediately following computation period. The Hours of Service credited for a "maternity or paternity leave of absence" shall be those which would normally have been credited but for such absence, or, in any case in which the Administrator is unable to determine such hours normally credited, eight (8) Hours of Service per day. The total Hours of Service required to be credited for a "maternity or paternity leave of absence" shall not exceed 501.

  • Medically Necessary Leave of Absence means a Leave of Absence by a full-time student Dependent at a postsecondary educational institution that:

  • Personal Leave means leave provided for:

  • Paid sick leave – means paid leave under the Emergency Paid Sick Leave Act.

  • Sick Leave means the period of time an employee is absent from work with or without pay, by virtue of sickness, quarantine, or accident, or out-of-town medical/dental referrals for which compensation is not payable under the Worker's Compensation Act.
