Thermal Oxidizer definition

Thermal Oxidizer means a type of control apparatus which reduces the emission of air contaminants by subjecting the gases being emitted to elevated temperatures which cause the air contaminant molecules to decompose within an enclosed space. For the purposes of this subchapter, this term includes catalytic and non-catalytic thermal oxidizers.
Thermal Oxidizer means combustion equipment fired with gaseous fuel and used to control emissions of air contaminants from industrial or commercial processes.
Thermal Oxidizer means a combustion device that eliminates VOC, CO, and volatile HAP emissions by combusting them to carbon dioxide (CO2) and water. The device maintains a minimum temperature in the combustion chamber to eliminate pollutants.
