Apprenticeship means the training and (where applicable) end point assessment for an employee as part of a job with an accompanying skills development programme;
Apprenticeship program means a program registered with the U.S. Bureau of Apprenticeship and Training which contains the terms and conditions for the qualification, recruitment, selection, employment and training of apprentices, including the requirement for a written apprenticeship agreement.
Standards of Apprenticeship means this entire document, including these definitions.
Registered apprenticeship program means an apprenticeship program which is registered with and approved by the United States Department of Labor and which provides each trainee with combined classroom and on-the-job training in an occupation recognized as an apprenticeable trade and meets the program standards of enrollment and graduation under 29 C.F.R. s.29.6.
Apprenticeship sponsor means an entity operating an apprenticeship program or in whose name an apprenticeship program is being operated, registered or approved by the United States Department of Labor, Bureau of Apprenticeship and Training.
Government Apprenticeship Programme “ means training which is funded by the Government via the National Apprenticeship Service.
Apprenticeship Agreement means a written agreement between the Company and the person employed as an apprentice, and his/her parent or guardian if he/she is a minor, which agreement or indenture shall be reviewed by the Joint Apprenticeship Committee, approved by the Supervisor of Apprentices and registered with the Registration Agency.
Apprenticeship committee means those persons designated by the sponsor to act for it in the administration of the program. A committee may be “joint,” i.e., composed of an equal number of representatives of the employer(s) and of the employees represented by a bona fide collective bargaining agent(s), and is established to conduct, operate, or administer an apprenticeship program and enter into apprenticeship agreements with apprentices. A committee may be “unilateral” or “nonjoint” and shall mean a program sponsor in which a bona fide collective bargaining agent is not a participant.
Apprentice electrician means an individual other than an electrical contractor, master electrician, or electrical journeyman, who is engaged in learning about and assisting in the installation or alteration of electrical wiring and equipment under the direct personal supervision of an electrical journeyman or master electrician.
Apprentice plumber means a person licensed under this chapter as an apprentice
Term of Agreement shall have the meaning ascribed thereto in Article 2 of this Agreement;
The crime of apartheid means inhumane acts of a character similar to those referred to in paragraph 1, committed in the context of an institutionalized regime of systematic oppression and domination by one racial group over any other racial group or groups and committed with the intention of maintaining that regime;
Period of Agreement means 5 years from the date of Final acceptance of the Project.
Apprentice means a worker who is employed to learn an apprenticeable occupation under the terms and conditions of approved apprenticeship standards.
Training program means a standardized medication
main phase employment and support allowance means an employment and support allowance where the calculation of the amount payable in respect of the applicant includes a component under section 2(1)(b) or 4(2)(b) of the Welfare Reform Act 2007 except in Part 1 of Schedule 1;
RCPSC means the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.
Paycheck Protection Program means loan program created by Section 1102 of the CARES Act.
Vocational education means organized educational programs that are directly related to the preparation of individuals for paid or unpaid employment, or for additional preparation for a career not requiring a baccalaureate or advanced degree.
Spatial Planning and Land Use Management Act means the Spatial Planning and Land Use Management Act, 2013 (Act 16 of 2013);
Apprenticeship craft or trade, as used in this Paragraph, shall mean a craft or trade determined as an apprenticeship occupation in accordance with rules and regulations prescribed by the Apprenticeship Council.
General education means the compulsory school attendance phase as referred to in section 3 of the South African Schools Act, 1996 (Act No. 84 of 1996); and
Year 2000 Issues means, in respect of a person or entity, anticipated costs, problems and uncertainties associated with the inability of certain computer applications to effectively handle data including dates on and after January 1, 2000, as such inability affects the business, operations and financial condition of such person or entity.
Period of Coverage means the Plan Year, with the following exceptions: (a) for Employees who first become eligible to participate, it shall mean the portion of the Plan Year following the date on which participation commences, as described in Section 3.1; and (b) for Employees who terminate participation, it shall mean the portion of the Plan Year prior to the date on which participation terminates, as described in Section 3.2.
income-related employment and support allowance means an income-related allowance under Part 1 of the Welfare Reform Act 2007;
Prescription monitoring program means the electronic system within the Department of Health Professions that monitors the dispensing of certain controlled substances.
