Supplementary Service definition

Supplementary Service means the number of years by which the pensionable service (including additional pensionable service (if any)) of a member at the relevant date falls short of the pensionable service which would have accrued to the member by age 65. If added years AVCs have been paid in respect of the member, that period shall be reduced by any reduction in the number of years' pensionable service purchased by added years AVCs under sub-rule 37.5 (Unreduced benefits on death or incapacity retirement). If the aggregate of pensionable service (including additional pensionable service (if any)) and supplementary service would exceed 40 years, the supplementary service shall be reduced to the extent of the excess. For the purposes of this definition, pensionable service includes years of pensionable service accrued or credited under rules of the scheme in force prior to a break in membership, irrespective of whether benefits arising from it will otherwise be linked to benefits arising from such service subsequently accrued or credited, so long as thetrustee company has not been discharged of all liability to or in respect of the memberin relation to it.
Supplementary Service has the meaning given in clause 3.1(3).
Supplementary Service means electric energy or capacity supplied by the Company in addition to that which is normally provided by the Customer's own generation equipment.

  • Standby and Supplementary Service is available for any residential customer subject to the provisions in the General Rules and Regulations, Section 2.4. The Company's meter will be ratcheted to measure the flow of power and energy from Company to customer only.
