Subsistence means such subsistence as is reasonable in the circumstances of the employment in question, and does not include accommodation; and
Subsistence means the customary and traditional native Hawaiian uses of renewable ocean resources for direct personal or family consumption or sharing.

Subsistence means lodging, meals, and incidental expenses associated with traveling.
Subsistence means essential living expenses including rent or mortgage payments on the veteran’s or veteran’s depen- dent’s residential living quarters, food, clothing, medical insur- ance premiums, prescribed medications, essential travel, moving expenses, child care required because of employment, education or medical reasons, household utilities expenses including heat, electricity, gas and telephone, and, in exceptional cases, such other items relating to emergency aid as the department may deem necessary.
