State drinking water standards definition

State drinking water standards means quality standards setting limits for contaminant levels or establishing treatment techniques to meet standards necessary to protect the public health.
State drinking water standards means rules promulgated under section 5 of Act 399, MCL 325.1005, that establish water quality standards necessary to protect public health or that establish treatment techniques to meet these water quality standards.

Water quality standards are to protect the public health or welfare, enhance the quality of water and serve the purposes of the State Water Control Law (§ 62.1-44.2 et seq. of the Code of Virginia) and the federal Clean Water Act (33 USC § 1251 et seq.).

  • Lawn and garden insecticide means an insecticide product labeled primarily to be used in household lawn and garden areas to protect plants from insects or other arthropods. Notwithstanding the requirements of section 6(c) aerosol “Lawn and Garden Insecticides” may claim to kill insects or other arthropods.
