Sick time definition

Sick time means time that is provided by an employer to an employee that can be used for the purposes described in subdivision a of section 20-914 of this chapter, whether or not compensation for that time is required pursuant to this chapter.

  • If no sub coverage or supervision of students is necessary, bargaining unit members may take Personal or Sick time in one-hour increments.

More Definitions of Sick time

Sick time means time off from work that has been earned and accrued and may be used by an Employee under this Chapter and which that is calculated at the same hourly rate and with the same benefits, including health care benefits, as the Employee normally earns during hours worked and is provided by an Employer to an Employee at the accrual rate described in Section 9.01.040030 and for the purposes described in Section 9.01.050.

Sick time or “protected sick time” means an unpaid absence from work for an authorized reason, without a reduction in other employee benefits. An employee may not be disciplined for using protected sick time in accordance with this rule.
