Sick Leave While on Vacation. An employee who while on vacation is incapacitated for one (1) or more days due to personal illness or injury may charge such days to accrued sick leave. In such event, the employee promptly shall notify his department, and upon return to duty shall substantiate the need for, and use of, sick leave.
Sick Leave While on Vacation. If an Employee becomes ill for a period of three (3) or more consecutive working days while on vacation and if the illness is supported by a certificate acceptable to the Employer from a qualified medical practitioner, the Employee shall be granted sick leave for that period. If sick leave is granted in these circumstances, the Employee's vacation is credited to the extent of the sick leave.
Sick Leave While on Vacation. If an employee becomes injured or ill while on scheduled vacation, that injury or illness confines him or her to a hospital or a residence, the employee may opt to charge his or her time away to any unused, accumulated sick leave hours. Proper documentation confirming the injury or illness must be submitted to his or her immediate supervisor before such a change can be made.
Sick Leave While on Vacation. An employee shall have the appropriate time of annual leave restored to his/her credit if he/she becomes eligible for sick leave while on annual leave status providing a doctor’s certificate together with the employee’s request is submitted to the Human Resource Department no later than five (5) days after his/her return to work.
Sick Leave While on Vacation. Where an employee's scheduled vacation is interrupted due to a serious illness requiring the employee to be an inpatient in a hospital, the period of such hospitalization shall be considered sick leave provided that the employee provides a satisfactory documentation of the illness and hospitalization. The portion of the employee's vacation which is deemed to be sick leave under the above provision will not be counted against the employee's vacation credits.
Sick Leave While on Vacation. If an employee becomes hospitalized for more than one day during his/her vacation, there shall be no deduction of vacation credits during the period of hospitalization. If an employee becomes sick for more than three consecutive calendar days during his/her vacation, there shall be no deduction of vacation credits during the period of sickness. An employee shall notify his/her supervisor at the time of such hospitalization or sickness and shall provide the Employer with medical certificates of such hospitalization or sickness.
Sick Leave While on Vacation. If an employee or a member of the employee’s immediate family (for purposes of this section shall be defined as the employee’s spouse, domestic partner, child or parent, and the child or parent of employee’s spouse or domestic partner) and other family members in the discretion of the CEO or designee becomes ill or injured during an employee’s authorized vacation leave, the employee may apply to terminate his/her vacation and use sick leave or apply to convert his/her use of vacation to sick leave upon return to work. In order to exercise this option the employee must provide written verification that is satisfactory to the Court that demonstrates that had the employee been working the illness or injury would have qualified for the employee to use his/her sick leave accruals.
Sick Leave While on Vacation. An employee who becomes sick during the time of vacation may receive sick leave pay instead of vacation pay and time charged as vacation, if such employee:
Sick Leave While on Vacation. An employee, whose vacation leave is interrupted by illness or injury that requires confinement, shall have such period of confinement charged against available sick leave credits. The employee will be required to provide medical evidence of such confinement.
Sick Leave While on Vacation. A unit member who, while on paid vacation, has suffered a disability due to injury or illness, may substitute sick leave for vacation pay for each day of such disability and/or restriction. A physician’s certification may be required on a “Leave Application” card.
