Professional employees shall earn leave as of the date of hire in accordance with the following schedule: Maximum Sick Leave Entitlement Per Year Sick leave will be earned at a rate of 6% of all Regular Hours Paid 37.5 Hour Work Schedule: 117 Hours (15.6 days) Regular Hours Paid as used in this Article include all hours paid up to 37.5 hours per week, except full time out-service training and hours worked beyond the regular schedule. Work-related disability time shall be included in regular hours paid as provided in Article 27, Section 3. All professional employees shall be required to contribute to the sick leave bank earned sick leave in an amount equal to one percent (1%) of regular hours paid each biweekly pay period. It is understood by the parties that the sick leave in this bank is intended to provide sick leave coverage to professional employees who have suffered a catastrophic illness and who have exhausted all of their accumulated sick leave. The Employer shall credit hours to the sick leave bank at quarterly intervals each calendar year. The Sick Leave Bank Committee shall continue operation of the sick leave bank in accordance with the Sick Leave Bank Rules and Procedures as contained in Appendix F.

Workweek: 97.5 Hrs.(13 days) at the rate of 5% of all 40 Hr. Workweek: 104 Hrs.(13 days) Regular Hours Paid Regular hours paid as used in this Article include all hours paid except overtime, standby time, call-time, and full-time out-service training. For purposes of placement on the Sick Leave earnings schedule, total years of service with the Commonwealth will be accumulated.

SICK LEAVE AND BEREAVEMENT LEAVE. 15.1 APPLICABILITY OF CITY PERSONNEL RULES AND REGULATIONS (PRR) Section17 of the City’s Personnel Rules and Regulations, as it now exists or as it may be changed as provided in this Agreement, shall apply except as follows: The rate of earning shall be twelve (12) hours per month, provided the employee is not on unpaid status more than fifty-six (56) hours during the month, except that the provisions of Section 30 (Workers Compensation) of the City’s PRR shall apply. The minimum notice for sick leave use under this CBA shall be one (1) hour prior to the start of shift assignment. For purposes of this Article, FMLA shall be deemed to comply with Section 20 of the City’s Personnel Rules and Regulations. If, upon expiration of the job protection afforded by FMLA, an employee is still unable to return to full duty or be reasonably accommodated; and where there is a medical prognosis that the employee can return and perform the essential functions of his position within a reasonable time as specified by statute, ordinance, or Law. Management will allow accrued (non-donated) sick leave to be utilized during that period.
