Shoreline variance definition

Shoreline variance is a means to grant relief from the specific bulk, dimensional or performance standards set forth in the City’s Shoreline Master Program and not a means to vary a use of a shoreline.
Shoreline variance means a modification of the regulations of this chapter when authorized by the Director and approved by the Department of Ecology after a finding that the literal interpretation and strict application of the provisions of this chapter would cause undue and unnecessary hardship in view of specific facts and condi- tions applying to a lot in the Shoreline District.
