Sessional Lecturer definition

Sessional Lecturer means a person who was appointed as a Sessional Lecturer during the period (1) July 1, 2012 to June 30, 2013 and who is re-appointed as a Sessional Lecturer during the period July 1, 2013to June 30, 2014;
Sessional Lecturer means a member of the academic staff with the rank of Sessional Lecturer II, or Sessional Lecturer I.
Sessional Lecturer means a member of the Academic Staff appointed by the Dean of a Faculty or School to teach no more than one semester course in a designated semester. Normally, the Sessional Lecturer has full responsibility for the course, but on occasion a Sessional Lecturer will be a member appointed at a partial stipend to teach a defined portion of a course with corresponding teaching responsibilities. Terms and conditions for Sessional Lecturers are governed by the University of Lethbridge Sessional Lecturers Handbook.

Examples of Sessional Lecturer in a sentence

  • The Panel shall be composed of eight (8) full-time faculty members of the University of Toronto, each from a different Department, and one (1) Sessional Lecturer III.

  • However, no appointment of a Sessional Lecturer I may be made if there is a qualified graduate student within the first priority group (specified in F.3.) available for appointment as a GTA.

  • May also be employed as a Sessional Lecturer within the CUPE 4163 bargaining unit separately and distinctly from the individual’s status as a Post Doctoral Fellow.

  • Where possible, one of the members of the Committee shall be a member of CUPE Local 3902, Unit 3 who holds the rank of Sessional Lecturer III in the department, provided the member agrees to so serve.

  • Where possible, one of the members of the Committee shall be a member of the CUPE Local 3902 Unit #3 bargaining unit who holds the rank of Sessional Lecturer II or Sessional Lecturer III in the department, provided the member agrees to so serve.

  • The ARP Committee shall consider the material and submissions, and shall either confirm the Advancement Committee’s decision or determine that the candidate is to be advanced to the rank of Sessional Lecturer II.

More Definitions of Sessional Lecturer

Sessional Lecturer means a person holding an appointment in scope of the sessional lecturer bargaining unit and who is responsible for teaching a credit course and remunerated on a per- course basis.
Sessional Lecturer means an individual appointed by the University to a sessional lecturer or music performance instructor appointment pursuant to an appointment notice and who is designated as a "Sessional Lecturer" or "Music Performance Instructor" in such appointment notice.

Sessional Lecturer means a person who was appointed as a Sessional Lecturer during the period (1) July 1, 2014 2018 to June 30, 2015 2019 and who is re-appointed as a Sessional Lecturer during the period July 1, 2015 2019 to June 30, 2016, 2020; (2) July 1, 2019 to June 30, 2020 and who is re-appointed as a Sessional Lecturer during the period July 1, 2020 to June 30, 2021; (3) July 1, 2020 to June 30, 2021 and who is re-appointed as a Sessional Lecturer during the period July 1, 2021 to June 30, 2022.
Sessional Lecturer means an Employee who is defined as such under the collective agreement between the University and the Faculty Association, as in effect from time to time.

Related to Sessional Lecturer

  • Lecturer means a member of the staff of the University College who is, in terms of appointment, a professor, an associate professor, senior lecturer, lecturer, assistant lecturer, or tutorial assistant, or a person who holds any other teaching post which the Council has recognized as a post having academic status in the University College;

  • Classroom teacher means a teacher subject to annual performance evaluation review under the provisions of Education Law Section 3012-c.

  • Teacher means teachers, paraprofessionals, principals, school employees, contractors, and other administrators.
