Service Region. A geographic area comprised of those counties where the Contractor is responsible for providing adequate access to services and Providers. Short Term: A period of thirty (30) Calendar Days or less. Significant Traditional Providers: Those Providers that provided the top eighty percent (80%) of Medicaid encounters for the GMC-eligible population in the base year of 2004.

  • If there are any tax credits set-aside for Developments in a Rural Area in a specific Uniform State Service Region (Rural subregion) that remain after award under subparagraph (C) of this paragraph, those tax credits shall be combined into one "pool" and then be made available in any other Rural Area in the state to the Application in the most underserved Rural subregion as compared to the subregion's allocation.

Service Region means a geographic area which the Maryland Environmental Service designates and within which the Executive Director, after consultation with the municipalities affected, causes surveys, plans, studies, and estimates to be made for the purpose of determining the most dependable, effective, and efficient means of providing services through water supply projects, solid waste disposal projects, or wastewater purification projects. Service regions shall be based upon needs set forth in approved State–county master water and sewerage plans, or solid waste disposal plans, if any, adopted pursuant to the Environment Article, but they may also take account of other plans and studies.
