Seniority definition

Seniority means length of service with the Employer.
Seniority shall be defined as the length of the employee's continuous employment with the Employer, including service prior to the signing of this Agreement. Full-time employees shall be credited with seniority equivalent to their length of continuous employment. Part-time employees shall be credited with seniority based on all straight-time hours paid by the Employer.
Seniority shall be defined in accordance with the following:

Examples of Seniority in a sentence

  • An employee will be considered on probation, and will not be placed on a Seniority List until s/he has worked for a total of sixty days within a period of twelve months.

  • When a full-time employee who has previously worked as a regular part-time employee is transferred from the full-time bargaining unit to a regular part-time position in the part-time bargaining unit, such employee will be able to carry with her any part-time seniority previously accumulated in accordance with Article Seniority of the Part- time Collective Agreement.

  • Seniority List 2 will be sent to the Union by October 15th, January 15th and April 15th each year and will include all shift credits up to September 15th, December 15th and March 15th respectively.

  • Seniority shall be based upon continuous years of service within the district and shall run from the date of hire.

  • An updated Seniority List 1 shall be sent to the Union by October 15th and April 15th each year.


More Definitions of Seniority

Seniority means the length of continuous employment dating from the last date of hire within the bargaining unit.
Seniority means the service credit as defined in Part A Section 5.0, except for the restrictions contained in Article 10.1.2.

Providing there is no interruption of service, employees who receive a continuing appointment shall be deemed to have continuing service for the purpose of this Article.
