Salary Administration. Entry Rate: Entry Rate is defined as the salary received by an employee at the date of appointment to the University or upon moving initially into a position at a higher band level. On moving to a position having a higher band level, the employee’s salary will be set at the Entry Rate or remain at the present rate which ever is higher. Job Rate: Job rate is defined as the salary received by an employee following successful completion of the Entry Rate time period. On moving to a position having a higher Job Rate the employee’s salary will be set at the Entry Rate or remain at the present rate, which ever is higher. On moving to a position having the same Job Rate, the employee’s salary will not change. On moving to a position of a lower band, the employee’s salary shall be at the Job Rate. The length of time it takes to progress from Entry Rate to Job Rate shall be dependent upon the applicable band level as identified under codes A, B and C within Schedule A. (Note: code “A” requires the completion of three (3) months; “B” six (6) months; and, “C” nine (9) months.)
