Rest definition

Rest means any uninterrupted period during which a driver may freely dispose of his time;
Rest means time when a person is not on duty and is not required to be available for duty but does include in the case of the Master, Chief Mate, Chief Engineer, and Second Engineer, time when the officer is required to be on board and is available for consultation and advice but is not actively engaged in any work related to the ship’s operations, and hours of rest shall be construed accordingly;
Rest means any uninterrupted period of at least one hour during which the driver may freely dispose of his time;

  • For the purposes of s354 of the Workplace Relations Act, this Agreement excludes the operation of the following protected award provisions: • Rest breaks; • Incentive-based payments and bonuses; • Annual leave loadings; • Public holidays entitlements and payments, including substitute days; • Monetary allowances relating to expenses, responsibilities or disabilities; • Penalty rates or loadings for working overtime or shift work.

  • An employee working overtime on a Saturday, Sunday or Public Holiday shall be allowed a 30 minute combined Rest Period/Crib Break after four hours work, such time to be paid as per subclause (d)i hereof, with a further 20 minute Crib break to be paid as per subclause (d)ii hereof if the overtime continues past 8 hours worked.
