Rem definition

Rem means the special unit of any of the quantities expressed as dose equivalent. The dose equivalent in rem is equal to the absorbed dose in rad multiplied by the quality factor (1 rem = 0.01 sievert).
Rem means the unit of dose equivalent from ionizing radiation to the total body or any internal organ or organ system. A “millirem” (mrem) is 1/1000 of a rem.
Rem means the unit of dose equivalent from ionizing radiation to the total body or any internal organ or organ system. A millirem is one one-thousandth (1/1000) of a rem.

Examples of Rem in a sentence

More Definitions of Rem

Rem means a measure of the dose of any ionizing radiation to body tissue in terms of its estimated biological ef- fect relative to a dose of 1 roentgen (r) of X-rays (1 millirem (mrem)=0.001 rem). The relation of the rem to other dose units depends upon the biological effect under consideration and upon the conditions for irradiation. Each of the following is considered to be equiv- alent to a dose of 1 rem:
Rem means the special unit of any of the quantities expressed as dose equivalent.
Rem means the unit of radiation dose equivalent that is the dosage in rads multiplied by a factor representing the different biological effects of various types of radiation.
Rem means a special unit of dose equivalent. (One millirem (mrem) = 0.001 rem.) For the purpose of 410 IAC 5, any of the following is considered to be equal to one rem:
Rem means the special unit of dose equivalent (see “Dose equivalent”). The dose equivalent in rem is equal to the absorbed dose in rad multiplied by the quality factor (1 rem - 0.01 sievert).
Rem means the unit of dose equivalent from ionizing radiation to the total body or anyinternal organ or organ system. A millirem (mrem) is one-thousandth (1/1,000) of a rem.
Rem means the special unit of any of the quantities expressed as dose equivalent. The dose equiv- alent in rem is equal to the absorbed dose in rad multiplied by the quality factor (1 rem = 0.01 sievert). “Reportable medical event” means the medical event, except for an event that results from patient intervention, in which the administration of by-product material or radiation from by-product material
