Religious Holiday definition

Religious Holiday means a particular day of the year that a Bus Operator's Religious Obligations would preclude him/her from working.
Religious Holiday. The County recognizes that there may be occasions where an employee is scheduled on a recognized religious holiday and shall make every reasonable effort to accommodate a request for religious accommodation when faith requires an abstinence from work, provided such accommodation shall not unduly interfere with operational needs nor interfere with the shift bid process or shift assignment resulting thereto. The Employee may be excused by providing a minimum of thirty (30) days’ notice for (1) vacation leave, (2) compensatory time off, or (3) leave without pay.
Religious Holiday means any of First Day Passover, Second Day Passover, Seventh Day Passover, Eighth Day Passover, First Day Shavuoth, Second Day Shavuoth, First Day Rosh Hashanah, Second Day Rosh Hashanah, Yom Kippur, First Day Sukkoth, Second Day Sukkoth, Shemini Azereth or Simchas Torah;

Examples of Religious Holiday in a sentence

  • Employees must submit a request for Religious Holiday Leave to Human Resources at least five (5) days prior to the religious holiday.

  • Bereavement Leave means "a leave of absence granted to an employee upon a death occurring in the employee's Immediate Family.”
