Ranked faculty definition

Ranked faculty means all persons employed by Western Michigan University who hold Board appointments in any of the following categories: professor, associate professor, assistant professor, instructor, master faculty specialist, faculty specialist II or faculty specialist I.

  • Ranked faculty members (but not including ranked faculty members who are serving as Department Heads, School Directors, Associate Deans, Deans, or Associate Provosts) are eligible to apply for leave to engage in professional development activities not covered by sabbatical or educational leaves.

  • Ranked faculty are sometimes appointed to administrative assignments.

  • Ranked faculty who become administrators retain their faculty rank, and tenure status.

  • Ranked faculty members who become administrators will continue to be eligible for sabbatical leave and to accrue years of service towards sabbatical leave (see Section 2.10.2.1).

  • Ranked faculty include full-time faculty who hold an appointment of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor.

  • Ranked faculty VISA matters will be coordinated by Human Resources, which will be the contact office for communication with the faculty member and any outside assistance the University has employed.

  • Ranked faculty must have an appropriate advanced terminal degree in the field as determined by the discipline/department.

  • Medical Specialist means any medical practitioner who is vocationally registered by the Medical Council under the Health Practitioners Competence Assurance Act 2003 in one of the approved branches of medicine and who is employed in either that branch of medicine or in a similar capacity with minimal oversight.

  • Students means students, their parents, guardians or other legal representatives.

  • Esthetician means a person licensed under this chapter to engage in the practice of esthetics.

  • School nurse means a registered professional nurse with Maine Department of Education certification for school nursing.

  • €STRi-pTBD means, in respect of any TARGET Business Day falling in the relevant Interest Accrual Period, the €STR for the TARGET Business Day falling “p” TARGET Business Days prior to the relevant TARGET Business Day “i”;

  • Functional behavioral assessment means an individualized assessment of the student that results in a team hypothesis about the function of a student’s behavior and, as appropriate, recommendations for a behavior intervention plan.

  • Adult means a person 18 years of age or older.

  • Massage therapist means a person who practices massage therapy.

  • Scientists means employees who are university graduates in the Natural Sciences, the Applied Sciences, Mathematics or Computer Sciences, who are not classified as professional engineers, and who are engaged in the application of this specialized knowledge in the course of their employment. This definition includes all incumbents in positions identified under the heading of “Scientists” listed in Attachment A to Appendix I entitled “Utilization and Advancement of Professional Engineers and Scientists” in this Agreement. “Scientists” includes employees who satisfy these criteria and who are required to perform supervisory functions.

  • Non-Participating Prosthetic Provider means a Prosthetic Provider who does not have a written agreement with the Claim Administrator or another Blue Cross and/or Blue Shield Plan to provide services to you at the time services are rendered.

  • Diversional Therapist means a person who provides, facilitates and co-ordinates group and individual leisure and recreational activities. This person must be a graduate from an approved university course which includes: An Associate Diploma and Diploma of Applied Science (Diversional Therapy); Bachelor of Applied Sciences (Leisure and Health); Bachelor of Applied Science (Diversional Therapy); Diploma or Bachelor of Health Sciences (Leisure and Health); an Associate Diploma course in Diversional Therapy; or who has such other qualifications deemed to be equivalent (such as a Four-year degree, Master’s Degree or PhD).

  • Primary caregiver or "caregiver" means a resident of the State

  • Medical Staff means all physicians, dentists, oral surgeons, and podiatrists who have been appointed to the Medical Staff by the Board.

  • MEDICAL STAFF LEADER means any Medical Staff officer, department chairperson, section chairperson, and committee chair.

  • Population means the population as ascertained at the last preceding census of which the relevant figures have been published;

  • Skilled Nursing Facility means an institution or part thereof that is licensed as a Skilled Nursing Facility by the State of Florida, and is accredited as a Skilled Nursing Facility by The Joint Commission or recognized as a Skilled Nursing Facility by the Secretary of Health and Human Services of the United States under Medicare.

  • Nurse aide means any individual who is not a licensed health professional or volunteer providing nursing or nursing-related services to residents in a nursing facility.
