Random test. Random or periodic testing whereby employees are ordered to submit to a drug test without any basis to believe the employee has used drugs. Reasonable Suspicion: Means suspicion based on knowledge sufficient to induce a prudent and cautious man to believe a member has engaged in illegal drug usage. Reasonable suspicion of drug abuse or misuse is based upon behavioral and/or performance factors which include, but are not limited to, a decrease in work performance level, misconduct, excessive absenteeism, tardiness and/or sick leave use.
