Examples of Qualifying illness in a sentence
Qualifying illness shall not include (i) physical or mental impairment voluntarily induced by the employee, including, but not limited to, impairment arising from illegal or immoral conduct, (ii) unjustified fighting,(iii) illness or injuries suffered in or arising from military service or other gainful employment, (iv) injuries suffered while on excused or educational leave, and (v) impairment due to use of any intoxicating beverage or any controlled substance.
Excluded are just those observations where a works council has been abolished.
Qualifying illness include: HIV/AIDS, cancer, poorly-controlled diabetes, stage 5 renal disease, congestive heart failure (NYHA class III or IV), chronic obstructive pulmonary disorder “COPD” (stage III or IV), multiple sclerosis (RRPS, SPMS, PPMS), ALS (middle or late stages), and Parkinson’s (Stage III, IV or V).
Qualifying illness or condition” means:(A) Dementia;(B) A developmental disability;(C) An Axis I diagnosis that is described in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders published by the American Psychiatric Association; or(D) A physical or behavioral disorder that causes disorientation or otherwise may impede an individual’s ability to interact ef- fectively with a law enforcement officer.
