Qualified Specialist definition

Qualified Specialist means a person, contracted through the Chicago Hearing Society or otherwise, who is familiar with American Sign Language, oral communication, and gestural communication who has experience assessing the reading and writing ability of Deaf and Hard of Hearing individuals, and who is able to determine when a Certified Deaf Interpreter is necessary. The Qualified Specialist performs an Auxiliary Aids and Services Assessment.
Qualified Specialist means a person who possesses an appropriate combination of formal education, knowledge, skills, and experience to conduct a technically sound and rational assessment for the area of practice, and be familiar with applicable regulations, standards, policies, protocols and guidelines.
Qualified Specialist means a member in good standing of a profession regulated in British Columbia who is recognized by that profession as being qualified to practice in the areas of soils and reclamation of oil and gas development sites and who possesses an appropriate combination of formal education, knowledge, skills and experience to conduct a technically sound and rational assessment in these areas of practice.
