Qualified Healthcare Professional definition

Qualified Healthcare Professional means a Doctor of Medicine (MD); a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO); or a school nurse, nurse practitioner, physician assistant, or athletic trainer.   • The Qualified Healthcare Professional shall be approved by the host to provide on-site evaluations of athletes who are suspected of sustaining a concussion or exhibit signs or symptoms of a concussion.

  • If a Qualified Healthcare Professional determines that the athlete sustained a concussion or is unable to rule out a concussion, the athlete shall be referred for further evaluation by a Qualified Physician.
