PUBLIC USES definition

PUBLIC USES. - means a building, structure or lot used for public services by the Municipality, by any Department, Commission or Agency of any other Municipal Corporation or Government of Alberta or Canada, or by any Railway Company or Utility;
PUBLIC USES means uses that are owned or leased by the City for community, recreational, administrative, educational, health care, protection, utility or other governmental purposes, and includes accessory uses to public use; (157-2008)
PUBLIC USES means public parks, schools, administrative, and cultural buildings and structures, not including public land or buildings devoted solely to the storage and maintenance of equipment and materials and public service facilities.

PUBLIC USES means the buildings, structures and other related works necessary for the purpose of public service by the Corporation of the Town of Tecumseh or by any local Board thereof as defined by The Municipal Act, Chapter 302, R.S.O. 1980, the Corporation of the County of Essex, any department of the Government of Ontario or Canada, or any telephone, telegraph or communications company or gas company or Ontario Hydro.

  • Public use means a publicly owned project or a privately owned project that is available for use by the public.

  • Applicable Insurance Regulatory Authority means the insurance department or similar insurance regulatory or administrative authority or agency of the jurisdiction in which the Company is domiciled.

  • Public school academy means a public school academy or strict discipline academy organized under the revised school code, 1976 PA 451, MCL 380.1 to 380.1852.

  • Public lands ’ means (A) all lands under the cus- tody and control of the Secretary of the Interior and the Secretary of Agriculture, except Indian lands, (B) lands under the custody and control of the Tennessee Valley Authority that are situated in western Ken- tucky and Tennessee and are designated as ‘‘Land Be- tween the Lakes,’’ and (C) lands under the custody and control of the Secretary of Defense;

  • Private Business Use means use (directly or indirectly) in a trade or business or activity carried on by any Private Person (other than a Tax-Exempt Organization) other than use as a member of, and on the same basis as, the general public.

  • Public building and "public work" means a public building of, and a public work of, a governmental entity (the United States; the District of Columbia; commonwealths, territories, and minor outlying islands of the United States; State and local governments; and multi-State, regional, or interstate entities which have governmental functions). These buildings and works may include, without limitation, bridges, dams, plants, highways, parkways, streets, subways, tunnels, sewers, mains, power lines, pumping stations, heavy generators, railways, airports, terminals, docks, piers, wharves, ways, lighthouses, buoys, jetties, breakwaters, levees, and canals, and the construction, alteration, maintenance, or repair of such buildings and works.

  • Cemetery authority means any person who owns or operates a cemetery specified in s. 157.065 (1).

  • Public assistance means Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF); auxiliary grants to the aged, blind and disabled; medical assistance; energy assistance; food stamps; employment services; child care; and general relief.

  • Radio Regulations means the Radio Regulations annexed to, or regarded as being annexed to, the most recent International Telecommunication Convention which may be in force at any time.
