Pseudonymized Data definition

Pseudonymized Data means data in which personal data is replaced with one or more artificial identifiers, or pseudonyms. For example, a name is replaced with a unique number and the unique number is not made available in connection with the other data.
Pseudonymized Data means data which have been processed in such a manner (e.g. by assigning one or more random codes) that the data can no longer be attributed to a specific data subject without the use of additional information, provided that such additional information is kept separately and is subject to technical and organizational measures to ensure that the data are not attributed to an identified or identifiable natural person. Also known as coded data.
Pseudonymized Data means the processing of Personal Data in such a manner that the Personal Data can no longer be attributed to a specific data subject without the use of additional information, provided that such additional information is kept separately and is subject to technical and organisational measures to ensure that the personal data are not attributed to an identified or identifiable natural person. A controller or processor can create pseudonymized data by replacing such direct identifiers with a unique ID or other code that allows the pseudonymized data to be converted back to personal data with the use of a decryption key.
