Prosthetic and Orthotic Devices definition

Prosthetic and Orthotic Devices means devices that replace all or part of an internal body organ, including ostomy bags and supplies directly related to ostomy care and replacement of such devices and supplies. Prosthetic and orthotic devices also include leg, arm, back, and neck braces, and artificial legs, arms, and eyes, including replacements if required because of a change in the client's physical condition.
Prosthetic and Orthotic Devices means replacement, corrective, or supportive devices prescribed for a recipient by a physician or other licensed practitioner of the healing arts within the scope of the physician's or practitioner's practice as defined by state law for the purpose of artificially replacing a missing portion of the body, or to prevent or correct physical deformity or malfunction, or to support a weak or deformed portion of the body.

  • Marijuana-infused products means products that contain marijuana or marijuana extracts and are intended for human use. The term "marijuana-infused products" does not include useable marijuana.

  • Stereotactic radiosurgery means the use of external radiation in conjunction with a stereotactic guidance device to very precisely deliver a therapeutic dose to a tissue volume.

  • Collaborative drug therapy management means participation by an authorized pharmacist and a physician in the management of drug therapy pursuant to a written community practice protocol or a written hospital practice protocol.

  • Diagnostic x-ray system means an x-ray system designed for irradiation of any part of the human or animal body for the purpose of diagnosis or visualization.

  • Stray radiation means the sum of leakage and scattered radiation.

  • Background radiation means radiation from cosmic sources; naturally occurring radioactive materials, including radon (except as a decay product of source or special nuclear material); and global fallout as it exists in the environment from the testing of nuclear explosive devices or from past nuclear accidents such as Chernobyl that contribute to background radiation and are not under the control of the licensee. “Background radiation” does not include sources of radiation from radioactive materials regulated by the agency.
