Probationary Firefighter. A firefighter in his first year of employment with the DEPARTMENT. MODIFIED DUTY WORK: Shall be defined as reporting to perform office, clerical, inspections or other non-firefighting functions under the direction of CITY. SHIFT: Twenty-four (24) consecutive hours of work for which a Firefighter is compensated. HOURS OF WORK: All of that time during which employees are on duty and for which they receive compensation.
