Primary highways definition

Primary highways means all highways on the national highway system and all highways on the federal-aid primary system as it existed on June 1, 1991.

Examples of Primary highways in a sentence

  • Class IA compaction shall be used for intermediate and surface courses for the traffic lanes of Interstate highways, including Interstate-to-Interstate ramps, and Primary highways as specified.

  • Class IB will also be required on Primary travel lanes intermediate and surface courses, and ramps connecting to Interstate and Primary highways when Class IA compaction is not specified.

  • Do not use C-5 and C-6 concrete mix proportions for pavements on Interstate or Primary highways.

  • On Primary highways other than Interstate highways, if 25% or more of the plus No. 4 (4.75 mm) (virgin and RAP) aggregates or more than 40% of the total (virgin and RAP) aggregates is quartzite, granite, or other siliceous aggregates (not limestone or dolomite) which is obtained by crushing from ledge rock, hydrated lime will be required in the affected mixtures requiring Type A aggregate.

  • INTERSECTIONS: Signs shall not be located within five hundred (500) feet of an intersection at grade of two (2) or more Federal Aid Primary highways.

  • On Primary highways designed for over 10,000,000 ESALs and all Interstate highways, if 25% or more of the plus No. 4 (4.75 mm) (virgin and RAP) aggregate is gravel, quartzite, granite, trap rock, steel slag, or other siliceous aggregate (not a limestone or dolomite), anti-strip agent will be required in the affected mixture unless the minimum requirements for moisture sensitivity are met.

  • The use of construction mats is also identified at wetland crossings.

  • Neither Class I – State Primary highways nor Class III – State Recreational roads exist in Effingham.

  • Primary highways include Interstate 76 (Pennsylvania Turnpike) and Interstate 68 in Maryland both of which travel east-west, passing through Somerset County, Pennsylvania and Garrett County, Maryland respectively.

  • On Interstate and Primary highways designed for 30,000,000 ESALS and higher, perform a moisture sensitivity evaluation of the proposed asphalt mixture design in accordance with Materials I.M. 507.

Related to Primary highways

  • Primary highway means any highway, other than an inter- state highway, at any time officially designated as a part of the fed- eral−aid primary system by the department and approved by the appropriate authority of the federal government.

  • Highways means public streets, highways, and alleys.

  • Roads means streets, roads, and highways.

  • Pedestrian means any person afoot.

  • Driveway means a vehicle access route between the carriageway of a road and a use on a parcel;

  • Public highway means a public highway, road, street, avenue, alley, or thoroughfare of any kind, or a bridge, tunnel, or subway used by the public.

  • Passageway means a pathway that is unobstructed clear to the sky and extends from a street to one entrance of the accessory dwelling unit.

  • Fire alarm system means a system designed to detect and annunciate the presence of fire, or by-products of fire. Fire alarm system includes smoke detectors.

  • Drainage system means one or more artificial ditches, tile drains or similar devices which collect surface runoff or groundwater and convey it to a point of discharge.

  • Parking Structure means a Building, or any part thereof, principally used for the parking of motor vehicles;

  • Areas means such areas within the DAS Areas that are identified in Annexure A annexed to this Agreement;

  • Sidewalk means that portion of a street between the curb lines, or the lateral lines of a roadway, and the adjacent property lines intended for the use of pedestrians.

  • Through highway means every street or highway as provided in section 4511.65 of the Revised Code.

  • parking ticket means a parking ticket, season ticket, residents parking permit or waiver of any kind (including medical practitioner waiver, Tradesman’s Waiver and Daily Visitors’ Parking Cards).

  • Parking None unreserved vehicle parking spaces ("UNRESERVED PARKING SPACES"); and None reserved vehicle parking spaces ("RESERVED PARKING SPACES"). (Also see Paragraph 2.6.)

  • Parking Garage means a building or portion of a building, other than a private garage, that is used for the temporary parking of motor vehicles;

  • Landscape means an area, as perceived by people, whose character is the result of the action and interaction of natural and/or human factors;

  • Public garage means a building or other place where vehicles or vessels are kept and stored and where a charge is made for the storage and keeping of vehicles and vessels.

  • Walkway means a paved or unpaved trail or pathway or a structure constructed of wood or other material that is neces- sary due to the difficulty of the terrain for access to the river.

  • Parking Areas means those portions of the Common Areas or other areas under Landlord’s control which from time to time are designated by the Landlord for the parking of automobiles and other automotive vehicles while engaged in business upon the Premises (other than while being used to make deliveries to and from the Premises).

  • Service Areas means those areas within the Building used for stairs, elevator shafts, flues, vents, stacks, pipe shafts and other vertical penetrations (but shall not include any such areas for the exclusive use of a particular tenant).

  • Stormwater system means constructed and natural features which function together as a system to collect, convey, channel, hold, inhibit, retain, detain, infiltrate, divert, treat, or filter stormwater. “Stormwater system” includes both public and privately owned features.

  • Drainage area means a geographic area within which stormwater, sediments, or dissolved materials drain to a particular receiving waterbody or to a particular point along a receiving waterbody.

  • Garage shall have the meaning ascribed to it in Recital H;

  • Abut or "abutting" means immediately contiguous or physically touching, and, when used with respect to a lot or site, means that the lot or site physically touches upon another lot or site, and shares a property line or boundary line with it;

  • Patio means an uncovered horizontal structure with a surface height, at any point, no greater than 0.60 metres above grade, intended for use as an outdoor amenity space.
