Poultry means all birds that are reared or kept in captivity for the production of meat or eggs for consumption, the production of other products, for restocking supplies of game birds or for the purposes of any breeding programme for the production of these categories of birds;

Poultry means poultry as defined in point 1 of Article 2 of Council Directive 90/539/EEC(a) of 15 October 1990 on animal health conditions governing intra-Community trade in, and imports from third countries of, poultry and hatching eggs;

Poultry means farmed birds, including birds that are not considered as domestic but which are farmed as domestic animals, with the exception of ratites.
