Planning time definition

Planning time means a segment of time for elementary teachers that provides at least an average of 30 minutes per day for planning during the student's school week as provided in § 22.1-291.1 of the Code of Virginia.
Planning time is time allocated for instructional planning and completing responsibilities inherent to one’s teaching position and is free from student supervision responsibilities.
Planning time means duty time free from the supervision of students.

Said planning time may also be used for cataloging pictures for children’s portfolios, preparing progress reports, parent conferences, and writing for the newsletter. The School will not schedule meetings of any sort during Planning Time, without written consent from the teacher(s).
Planning time is defined as the specified number of minutes within the normal student day during which the certificated/licensed staff member has no responsibility for either student contact/supervision or as administratively assigned task. certificated/licensed staff members may, however, voluntarily work with students or assume tasks during their planning time.
