Official Holiday definition

Official Holiday means either the employee's actual or designated holiday, whichever is selected by the appointing authority for overtime compensation purposes.

Examples of Official Holiday in a sentence

  • Employees who work on Sundays or on those holidays listed on the District Official Holiday Schedule for the appropriate year will be paid at the rate of two times their regular hourly rates.

  • Employees who work other than Monday through Friday (e.g. shift employees whose work schedule requires them to work holidays, nights, Saturdays or Sundays) observe the Official Holiday that falls on a Saturday or Sunday, not the observed holiday.

  • Legal Holiday means a Saturday, a Sunday or a day on which banking institutions in the City of New York or at a place of payment are authorized by law, regulation or executive order to remain closed. If a payment date is a Legal Holiday at a place of payment, payment may be made at that place on the next succeeding day that is not a Legal Holiday, and no interest shall accrue on such payment for the intervening period.

  • General Holiday means every Sunday and any other day which is a

  • public holiday means any day other than Saturday or Sunday on which the banks in the City of London are not open for business;

  • Bank Holiday means any day that is specified or proclaimed as a bank holiday, pursuant to section 1 of the Banking and Financial Dealings Act 1971;

  • Legal Holidays has the meaning specified in Section 1.14.

  • Holiday means the twenty-four (24) hour period commencing at 0001 hours of a day designated as a paid holiday in this Agreement.

  • Official Journal means the Official Journal of the European Union;

  • Official Gazette means the Official Gazette of the Government;

  • Official Seal means the original(s) of the VA seal showing the exact form, content, and colors thereof.

  • Public Holidays means those days declared as public holidays in accordance with the Holidays Act 1983.

  • Official newspaper means any newspaper designated by the Board pursuant to R.S.35:1-1 et seq.

  • Official act or "official action" means a vote, decision, recommendation, approval, disapproval, or other action, including inaction, that involves the use of discretionary authority.

  • Weekday means Monday – Friday.

  • Official map means a map drawn by municipal authorities and recorded in

  • Banking Day means each day (other than a Saturday or Sunday) on which the Clearing System and the Trans-European Automated Real-time Gross settlement Express Transfer-System (TARGET2) ("TARGET2") are open for business.

  • Official ballot means the ballots distributed by the election officer to the poll

  • Official Plan means the Official Plan adopted for the Township, as amended and approved;

  • Official Image means an electronic image of an Eligible Bill, either created in accordance with the provisions of this Agreement or that otherwise complies with the requirements to permit negotiation and clearing of that Eligible Bill in accordance with the by-laws, standards, and Rules of the Canadian Payments Association.

  • Official action means a decision, recommendation, approval, disapproval or other action or failure to act which involves the use of discretionary authority.

  • NERC Holidays means a holiday as defined by the North American Electric Reliability Corporation or any successor thereto.

  • Official List means the Official List of the UK Listing Authority;

  • Unscheduled Holiday means that a day is not a Valuation Business Day and the market was not aware of such fact (by means of a public announcement or by reference to other publicly available information) until a time later than 9:00 a.m. local time in Buenos Aires two Valuation Business Days prior to the scheduled Valuation Date;

  • New York Banking Day means any day except a Saturday, Sunday or a legal holiday in The City of New York or a day on which banking institutions in The City of New York are authorized or obligated by law, regulation or executive order to be closed.

  • New York City Banking Day means any day on which commercial banks are open for general business (including dealings in foreign exchange and foreign currency deposits) in New York City;

  • Official stamp means a physical image affixed to or embossed on a tangible record or an electronic image attached to or logically associated with an electronic record.
