Octave band definition

Octave band means a spectrum of sound frequencies between band edge frequencies an octave apart. For purposes of this procedure, octave band frequencies are as specified in Table 1 of ANSI S1.11-1966 (R-1976) “specifications for octave, half-octave and third-octave band filter sets” (see N.J.A.C. 7:29-2.12(a)1).
Octave band means a prescribed interval of sound frequencies which classifies sound according to its pitch.
Octave band means an interval in Hertz between two frequencies having a ratio of 2:1. For purposes of this Regulation, octave band sound pressure levels shall be measured at any of the following center frequencies: 31.5, 63, 125, 250, 500, 1,000, 2,000, 4,000 and 8,000 Hz.
