Observation status means you are receiving hospital outpatient services to help the health care practitioner decide if you need to be admitted as an inpatient. Open enrollment period means no less than a 31-day period of time, occurring annually for the group, during which employees have an opportunity to enroll themselves and their eligible dependents for coverage under the master group contract. Oral surgery means procedures to correct diseases, injuries and defects of the jaw and mouth structures. Any amount you pay exceeding the maximum allowable fee is not applied to the non-network out-of-pocket limits. Outpatient means you are not confined as a registered bed patient. Outpatient surgery means surgery performed in a health care practitioner's office, ambulatory surgical center, or the outpatient department of a hospital.
