Notification of Illness. Nurses should notify the Medical Center of absence from work because of illness as far in advance as possible, but at least three and one-half (3 ½) hours before the start of the nurse’s shift. Repeated failure to give such minimum notification will result in reduction of otherwise payable sick leave for that shift by two (2) hours. Repeated failure as used in this section means more than twice every two years.
Notification of Illness. (a) Any Employee who will be absent due to illness or disability shall notify their supervisor or his designate, as soon as possible: however no later than her normal start time.

Employees must notify their immediate supervisor or designate directly at least one (1) hour prior to the commencement of a day shift, and at least two (2) hours prior to an evening shift and a night shift in order to advise of any illness that prevents him or her from working. The employee shall provide a telephone number where he or she can be reached during the period of absence.
