No Support definition

No Support is defined to mean that CFAES will provide no assistance to the employee with regard to managing the device or connecting the device to CFAES and/or university applications and services. The employee acknowledges his or her personal responsibility for compliance with all CFAES and university policies. Employees who choose not to have their personally owned device supported under this agreement, and then connect that device to CFAES and/or university applications and services, assume personal responsibility for compliance with CFAES and university policies. Employees who connect unsupported devices acknowledge that CFAES information technology support personnel are not responsible for assisting them in the event of an IT security incident involving the device or access to a CFAES or university application or service. If an employee accepts a reimbursement from CFAES for use of his or her personally owned device to perform his or her work, then CFAES requires that the device be supported at the “Appliance Service” level. Employees must acknowledge and agree to the shared support responsibilities inherent with this level of support. Normally, the reimbursement would be for the portion of the employee’s calling and/or data plan that is associated with work activities. If an employee accepts a reimbursement from CFAES for the purchase of his or her device (that is, the reimbursement is for the cost of the device itself and not for the employee’s calling and/or data plan), then CFAES assumes ownership of the device and the device will be tagged as a Non-Capital asset and supported at the “Platform Service” level. CFAES will provide “Appliance Service” when connecting personally owned devices to requested CFAES and/or university applications and services. Device owners must acknowledge the shared support responsibilities inherent with this level of support. CFAES is not responsible for any damages and/or data loss incurred on a personally owned mobile computing device. Employees must, where technically possible, follow the same standards as university owned devices including the use of strong authentication (xxxx://xxxxxxxxxxxxx.xxx.xxx/Policy/MCSS) and encryption (xxxx://xxx.xxx.xxx/policies/institutional_data).
